Hi to all of you who have written such nice notes. It’s true, I have definitely been sick. Once I figured out it was a medication problem, I took action. It’s hard to take action when you’re crying and feel like you can’t go on- but that’s just the illness. I am much, much better today. My Health Cards tell me when to do when I have bad mood swings and my family knows how to use them as well. We are so used to the system as we have used it for eight years! Where does the time go!
I will write more later today on what happened. I am so thankful I know how to manage bipolar disorder, but it’s still shocking that it can sneak up on me so quickly!
Julie

Julie,
So glad to hear you are feeling better.
I am in the middle of working my way through your four-step guide for people living with bp. I’m using it as a companion to the NAMI Peer-to-Peer and follow-up relapse prevention classes I took through my local NAMI affiliate, where I also am a volunteer. My hubby has already read the book for loved ones living with someone with bp, and we are planning on working through parts of it together after I finish my own reflection/introspection work. And, the “Getting It Done” book has been invaluable for solutions or jump-starts to my days, especially during a relapse of my bipolar depression that I experienced from May to late November 2008. I am starting to stabilize again and my hope is to return to the fairly good remission I was in before this latest relapse.
You have been a support throughout my dark days in 2008, and you continue to be a support in the light as well. Thank you, sincerely. And God Bless.
