I\u2019m not spending days cooking for something that is gone in a few hours. It\u2019s too stressful!\u201d I agree.\u00a0Margery just reserved a full Thanksgiving dinner from Whole foods.\u00a0 She picks it up Thanksgiving\u00a0 morning! She said it was <em>so<\/em> cheap when everyone went in on it.\u00a0 These stores have great and inexpensive salad bars as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Good idea:\u00a0<\/strong> Say no to cooking if it&#8217;s too much for you. Let others do it or buy dinner from a store and bring it home.\u00a0 Or, eat out!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">I\u2019d like to say I\u2019m immune to the whole Thanksgiving thing- but I\u2019m not. I have to make sure I have something to do that day or I know I will get depressed and lonely. \u00a0It\u2019s my nature. The concept of Thanksgiving has been burned into my American brain.\u00a0\u00a0My dinners were\u00a0so wonderful as a child- that is what I remember.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Here are some tips if Thanksgiving is important to you:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #993366;\">1. Plan now. Where do you want to be? Start hinting to the people you know that you would be a good addition to the party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #ff9900;\">2. Send out an email to friends saying you are looking for a fun dinner. You will get replies. Yes, you can do this the day before Thanksgiving.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #333399;\">3. Volunteer for the day. Many people do this and you meet new friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #008000;\">4. Crash a party!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">5. Go to Target to check out the Black Friday specials. Oh \u2013 this just sounds terrible\u2026\u00a0 but people love it! Buy a TV the next day! \ud83d\ude09\u00a0\u00a0Guys&#8230;. this is a joke. I&#8217;m joking! I&#8217;M JOKING!\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #ff00ff;\">6. Go to the movies with a friend. Pay for one and then sneak into the others\u2026hehe<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #00ccff;\">7. If you&#8217;re going to order a dinner from a place such as Whole Foods, do\u00a0so ahead of time. They do sell out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Or\u2026 you can be like me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #800000;\">8. \u00a0Tell your family you&#8217;re not going to do anything to prepare or clean up, but you will pay for food. That is the ONLY way I can survive the hullabaloo around the holidays.
