This was actually a hard topic to write about. There are a few different kinds of acceptance when it comes to bipolar disorder- I wrote about what it means to me and then had a revelation. I learn so much- it&#8217;s good for\u00a0family, partners\u00a0and health care professionals too!)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>Blog: How do You Define Acceptance? <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>I \u201caccepted\u201d my bipolar diagnosis with great joy. I was glad to have a name for what I was going through. I remember sitting in an unknown psychiatrist\u2019s office in Seattle in 1995 after I returned from my manic trip to China. (Of course I had no idea that it was mania!) I took a survey and the psych asked me about 10 questions- she said, \u201cJulie, you are a classic case of rapid cycling bipolar two. \u00a0That was easy to accept. \u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>My problem\u00a0has been\u00a0accepting that the illness is never going to go away&#8230;&#8230;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bphope.com\/bphopeblog\/post\/The-Two-Sides-of-Acceptance.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a> to the rest of the blog.<\/p>\n<p>Your comments are what make blogs strong- the BP blog has a really big commenting readership.
