If you know what your bipolar disorder looks like- from the first minute symptom, you can catch and stop a mood swing before it goes too far.\u00a0 Here is an example using hypomania. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">What is the first thing you say when\u00a0 you&#8217;re\u00a0 manic? <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">What is the first thing you do?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>What is the first thing you think? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Here are mine:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Say:\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m not manic am I? No, this isn&#8217;t mania.\u00a0 It&#8217;s just feeling good. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Do:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Drive quickly while listening to loud music. Banging my hands like\u00a0the steering wheel is a drum. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Think: God, it&#8217;s so fantastic not to be depressed! This is the real me! <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I have a lot of different bipolar hypomania\u00a0patterns. Here&#8217;s another one:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Say:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Life is boring. I really need to go out tonight and do a bit of drinking and have some fun!\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Do:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Drink in the afternoon- Mojito or a hard cider. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Think:\u00a0 \u00a0I feel so much better and I&#8217;m looking really fantastic tonight.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">When the above\u00a0scenarios come after a depression and feel way too good, I know it&#8217;s hypomania.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Learning my subtle signs of hypomania changed my life- it&#8217;s easier to treat mania at the very beginning than let it grow into something more serious. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">How about you?
