Why doesn\u2019t someone tell me what is happening? <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This thinking can be so physically painful, the body compensates with physical action. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8211; Compulsively checking social media or your phone. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8211; Calling and leaving more than one message.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8211; Continually texting&#8230;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>and really upsetting stable people. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Uncertainty is painful for the bipolar brain. We want answers NOW! in order to feel better. If we can\u2019t get the answers, our bodies choose repetitive behaviors as a calming tool. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This doesn\u2019t work! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If obsessive behaviors are a part of your life, there is help. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I love the work of Don Miguel Ruiz and his book The Four Agreements. It changed my life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT) is an excellent tool for managing obsessions that lead to compulsive behaviors. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Compulsions harm. They hurt us and the people around us hate them.
